Cards for Elyssa

I have mentioned "Cards for Elyssa" on here several weeks ago.

This Thursday is September 26, a normal day for most of us. But on that day in Rockwall Texas, a very special family will be celebrating the 21st birthday of their daughter, Elyssa.  She is the one I have requested prayeers for in the past. Elyssa is suffering from heart failure.... Her family is
planning a birthday celebration on Friday. It would be great if we could flood her mailbox with birthday cards. I hope you will take a moment to write down this address and get a card in the mail for her. This will be a very special birthday for her family to be able to be with her...Thank you in advance for helping with the celebration.....

What a beautiful young lady. Please lift her up in prayer..... as she continues on her journey....

Princesses and more

With Halloween coming down upon us, I have been obsessed with doing some Halloween people... fun, fun.. but then, this little whimsical princess pops up in the middle of all the dress up people.

She was a fun distraction, cause I am always loving girly things..... but also had some fun little characters to use for Halloween themed things...

That is all for this week. Next week, on to Thanksgiving and Christmas!! Have a great week.

Loving my pens

I have really enjoyed playing with my new pens. I keep them in the den all set up and can go "color" with them when I get new doodles done. I have finished up two new backgrounds that will be scanned and ready to make new cards with this week. I may have gone a bit crazy with the designs but they were fun....

With my computer back :) I can hook up my scanner and get back to full swing.... so tomorrow, that is what I will be doing with some new designs.... My heart is smiling at the thought of scanner and computer back together again after 10 days apart!!! Sad, I know!!

Have a great day!!

Still recovering from computer crash

After being without my computer for a good 10 days, I kind of had time to think about how dependant I have become on it!! I had a back up to use for some things, but my software for my cards and invitations was stuck somewhere on that damaged hard drive. Boy, was that a stressful time. Luckily, I have a very good computer friend, who does this kind of thing for his job. He was able to take care of it all for me, talk to the dell people, get me a new hard drive AND a new mother board, and retrieve most of my files. Now, the problem actually was something Dell had done last month when they came out for another problem.. Long story, but now, I am going to have to take it up with them to see what they are going to do about it.. Fun fun fun.....

I am a bit behind, and trying to catch up but in the mean time, I had time to work on another project that doesn`t require the computer... This summer, my two friends and I worked for days, on a vision we had. It was a one time adventure and we had the best time.... We took old pieces of scrap wood, and joint compound and went to town.... we spread tables and cloths out in my craft room and started designing and putting together our thoughts.....

We call ourselves... "Crown Creations" and decided to have three themes.. Crosses, Nativities and angels.... Our goal was to make enough to be able to have in a Christmas Show here in town in November. Well, we have over 70  pieces ready to take and set up to sell that first week of November. Most are finished but one more day is planned to finish the rest and put the tags and prices and bubble wrap them all to pack up. It was a great summer adventure and our hope is that the people who buy them will be blessed by the meaning and love that was put into making each one. They are all different and unique, none are just like the other one....

As I stand and look over the floor at the finished ones, I am amazed at all we got done on those summer days.... My thanks to Jo Anne and Lisa for joining me in this project!!

Yes, some still need a bit of touch up, some gold added here and there, and some flesh to the face but mostly, they are finished....Stay tuned for information about the Briarwood Christmas Show, Nov. 6 and 7, here in Birmingham....

Computer crashes and leaves me hopelessly up a creek!!!

What a week. For some unknown reason, my computer decides that the hard drive is going to crash..... wow.... I just never knew how much I depend on that thing til it is no longer functioning.

I took it to a friend who works on computers to plead my case and see if there was any hope. He has had it since Tuesday... running a recovery disc, trying to get all the files off... Dell was called and new hard ware, under waranty , is on its way. It cannot get here quick enough. I am already overwhelmed in my mind, of how many orders are waiting for me to fill when I get back to work... UGH?!!!!

But, I am just trying to do things that I didn`t have time to do while I was on the computer daily!! I had bought an online class several weeks ago from an artist who I love, and finally just sat down and listened and drew. So much fun....

Then today, I found an all day marathon of NCIS, which I love, and sat down with pen and paper in hand and doodled the afternoon away!! My husband was down in the man cave, watching football and switching the chanels all afternoon. So, in our own little worlds, we were both very content and happy!!

So, I have two doodles ready for paint or markers or something..... I may have gotten carried away but it was fun..

Not great quality because my scanner doesn`t work because I don`t have the computer to hook it up to  :(

Christmas girl and deer

I sketched this little girl with the deer and put her in color.... I am  enjoying getting started with Christmas early. Soon I will be pulling out the Christmas music, actually have already done it a bit in the privacy of my own little craft room!! But for sure, my favorite time of the year!
