Mothers Day without her....

As Mothers Day week came upon me this year, it brought so many feelings back to me. Feelings that I think I am over, but then from  no where, they come flooding down on me. Feelings of missing my mother... She has been gone from us for almost 3 years... December 13, 2010. A day I will forever remember.... and you hear that time heals... time will help.... and it does heal and it does help, but it never changes the fact that you have lost your best friend. Your mother, who you have had all your life, who you never ever imagine life without, who comforts you when you are down, who is always there for you to call, who always encourages you, who is always interested in whatever you have to say, your mother......  your sweet mother... is gone. That hole in your heart is always there... it may not be as big on certain days, but always there....

Anyway, several things this week brought her to my mind. But the main thing, Mothers Day week and everyone is talking about what to get their mother, posting pictures of their mothers, and it just struck me once again, how much I miss her.

So while in this missing her mood, I designed a card, a message for others who might be going through the same period as me.... here, without their Mothers on this special day of the year when we celebrate our Mothers. I too, am celebrating my Mother, although not here with me on this earth, I know where she is and  I know she is happier than she has ever been, right there in the very presence of Jesus. I know that I will see her one day again, and I am thankful for that....

Also did a few cards about friends.....

So, I wish all of you a very Happy Mothers Day. Enjoy the day, enjoy your Mother if she is with you. Enjoy the memories of her if she is in Heaven this year...

So glad to be linked with Bluechairdairyillustrations and her Sunday Sketches

Have a great Mother`s Day weekend!!
love,
Jane

  1. Jane, I know how it feels to lose your Mother, I lost mine 11 yrs ago. I miss her mostly every day but especially on Mother's Day and every special occasion. Like you, I rejoice that she is with Jesus and I know I will see her again. I hold on to that HOPE on the days when it is hardest. Happy Mother's Day.

  2. I am very sad that you have experienced this loss, but I'm glad you've found a positive way to celebrate. Your cards are lovely and thoughtful.
