Play date with Heston

This week we were watching the weather as they were predicting storms and possibly tornados by Thursday . As it got closer to the day, we had the most beautiful weather. Sun shining, birds chirping, flowers starting to show some color, lawns turning kelly green as they look like carpet stretched from one side to the other. A true sign of spring is when the trees start showering the ground with pollen. That is not the fun part of this season... One day I walked outside in the back yard and when I came back in, my feet, shoes and tights, were covered with the stuff!!

Thursday morning was beautiful.. But.. schools started closing, meetings were called off, special events were closing early.... all because the weather was predicted to get nasty by afternoon.. I left my Bible Study early as we finished up early, and got a call from my son. He said Heston`s school was closing early at 11:30 and asked if I could pick him up. Perfect timing as I am already in the car heading home. I get Heston and we head home. He wants to go play outside, so we head out with picnic and a big blanket, we find the hammock to set up our lunch in. We swing on the hammock,, eat lunch then he plays and swings for a long time. It is hard for me to think the storm is coming when it was so beautiful outside. He gets tired, and we come back inside to rest a bit. No nap, and very little rain, but a fun afternoon.... Seems the storm has passed us by for this time.

After it is decided that he will spend the night, and he goes down to bed, I pull out my drawings and work on two special order invitations I have gotten. Both are for Princess theme.

I have drawn a few sketches of this princess... to look like one of the girls, so I used her in the proof to send the mother... I sketched them first then lightly painted them to get the colors on... Touch ups in PSE11, which I am learning to love!!

As you can see, this one is for a Princess bowling party!

And this one is for a princess tea party.
I love to play around with little girl images... Something magical in doing special princess drawings, kind of like taking me back to my childhood, and that is  a good place to be sometimes!!

This is linked up to Sunday Sketches this week. Go check out the awesome art that these ladies have done...

Have a great week!!
Love,
Jane
