Expect His Grace

In trying to find the right words or sayings to put onto my paintings, I have started writing down notes. I take notes at church, while listening at Bible Study, even when I listen to songs on the radio. I may hear something that makes me want to write it down to remember and use for later. I love to go over these notes from time to time and find meaningful reminders from God. Maybe one day I will get them in some kind of order, but for now, much like my life, they are scattered all over the house in piles. Paper and pens have become my good friends, without them, I would not remember all I want to . My brain does not work like it did in years gone by, but am thankful that I can hear and write to remember!! This week, I went to the funeral of a close family friend, a good friend of our Mother. As I was sitting there with my brother and sister, the words were so raw for us to hear. It was only a short 2 years ago, Dec. 13, 2010, that our Mother went to live with the Lord. Many of the same things were said about her dear friend and should have been. They were very much alike, in the paths of their lives that they took. They both loved the Lord with all of their hearts, they both had Godly homes where they raised their families. They both left many seeds planted for others to see Jesus through them and the way they lived their lives. Yes, it was hard to sit there again, but as I am sitting there, I realize once again, that it is only through the grace of God, that He allows us to move ahead after we have experienced a loss like this, after we have walked through trials here on earth. So, with that in my mind, I created this card saying... "Expect His Grace" I used some mixed media for the angels, tissue, scrapbook paper and some stencils for the butterfly.... it was a fun process. Hope you enjoy them!
Glad to be a part of this Sunday Sketch group of artists! http://bluechairdiary.blogspot.com/2010/03/sunday-sketches-official.htm Have a great weekend, Love,

  5. Hi Jane! I like your angels - angels for every walk of life. I also like to have angels around, some of which are my paintings and some figurines, drawings, etc. It is that time of the year again for me, too. Mom passed away Dec 14, 2010, day after your Mom. I feel very blessed to have had Mom until she passed at 100.5 years old because 15 years before my thoughts were, how can I go on without my mother here, so God gave me plenty of time to adjust to the reality of life. And Mom was an artist also! Have a great week!
