This week, as Easter is fast approaching, I was trying to figure out what to use for my centerpiece for the dining room table . I have our family coming over and two friends who have just moved to town, 12 in all. That is very doable for my table but I wanted to have something simple but reflecting the special day. I found a great wrought iron backet at Hobby Lobby and some moss. I put a small vase in the middle, covered with the moss and some twig branches to give it some height. I have pastel colered ceramic eggs that my Mother made for me years ago and I really wanted to use them. A simple bunny that I already had, looked great beside the basket. My quest the other day was for some burlap ribbon to go on the end. My local craft stores did not have any. I happened upon a nice consignment store that has some great things from many vendors in it. When I walked in the door, I saw a table with lots of the burlap ribbon on it. It was a bit pricey, $22 but you get 30 yards so I guess that wasn`t too bad!
I made my bow for the basket with lots left over. So... I pulled out a wire frame that I had and wrapped it in the burlap, hung a grapevine cross that I have just gotten this year, and finished it off with another burlap bow. It is very simple but that is what I like about it. It is hung in my kitchen on the pantry door. The little iron bunny that I got at Hobby Lobby , looks like it belongs on the mirrored tray with some greenery and chocolate eggs spread around....
Just a little cooking left to do tomorrow, then we will be all set for Easter.
Time to celebrate our risen Savior!
Happy Easter to all!!
Love,
